  1. Login as root
  2. type ps –fade | grep pts/*
  3. kill -1 (the first row of 5 consecutive numbers)

            Example:  kill -1 12286

*If the process will not die use the following kill command with much caution.

               kill -9 (the first row of 5 consecutive numbers)

            Example:  kill -9 12286
